Stainless Steel Plate Wort Chiller 80 Plates. The length of the chiller and larger openings ensure better heat transfer to the cooling medium. The cooling speed of the wort depends on the tap water temperature and flow rate.

• Dimensions: 289x119x200(225)mm (LxWxH (total depth))
• 80 plates
• 2x inlet G 1 1/4 (cooling medium)
• 2x outlet G 1 1/4 (wort)
• Made of stainless steel (AISI 304) and brazed with pure copper.
• Vertical installation is recommended.
• Connect plate heat exchangers in counterflow; otherwise, the desired efficiency will not be achieved.

We recommend vertical installation to minimize sediment buildup and make cleaning easier. Plate heat exchangers cannot be cleaned mechanically, as they are non-dismantlable. Regular chemical cleaning is required to prevent clogging. The chiller should be flushed in the opposite direction to normal operation. Use appropriate cleaning chemicals based on the type of contamination:

Limescale:

• 4% nitric acid at max. 60°C
• 4% citric acid at max. 60°C

Organic deposits:

• 2% sodium hydroxide solution at max. 40°C

Mud, metal oxides:

• 8% nitric acid at max. 60°C
• 4% citric acid at max. 60°C

The following substances are prohibited for cleaning and use in the exchanger:

• Hydrochloric acid – solutions containing HCl
• Free chlorine concentration higher than 0.5 ppm (Cl₂ < 0.5 ppm)
• No chlorides for heating water above 100°C (Cl⁻ = 0 ppm)
• Any substance that could leave alkaline residues or phosphorus.
