This lid is designed to be extremely sturdy, ideal for use with heavier stills or off-center steam condenser units. It allows you to monitor your wash as it boils, letting you keep an eye on foam buildup or potential overflows. If you're brewing beer indoors and using a steam condenser lid, you won’t need to remove the entire lid for hop or salt additions—just remove the 3" sight glass and add your ingredients (careful when hot).

The material used, PPSU, is perfect for components exposed to high temperatures (up to 200°C) and corrosive substances due to its excellent chemical resistance and extreme impact resistance. This plastic also boasts superior thermal and mechanical properties while being transparent, which allows for intricate injection molding that would be nearly impossible in stainless steel or glass. Due to its unique properties, PPSU is significantly more expensive than other plastics and even stainless steel.
