NBR (nitrile rubber, also known as nitrile-butadiene rubber) is a synthetic rubber highly resistant to oils, fuels, and other chemicals. Due to its properties, it is widely used in industrial applications where contact with these substances is common.

Properties of NBR:

1. Oil and Fuel Resistance – NBR is well-known for its high resistance to mineral oils, lubricants, gasoline, and other hydrocarbons.
2. Temperature Resistance – It operates within a temperature range of approximately -30 °C to +100 °C, making it suitable for applications without extreme temperature conditions.
3. Mechanical Strength and Flexibility – NBR is abrasion-resistant and has good flexibility and resistance to cracking even under demanding conditions.
4. Water Resistance – It has moderate water resistance, although less than EPDM. However, it is not suitable for continuous exposure to ozone and UV radiation, as degradation may occur.

Uses of NBR:

Thanks to its resistance to oils and fuels, NBR is commonly used in seals, o-rings, diaphragms, hoses, and gloves. It is ideal for the automotive and engineering industries, where it is used in pumps, hydraulic systems, gaskets, and other applications involving frequent contact with oils or chemicals.
